Singer-songwriter John Denver touched millions of people and reached superstar status with his folk-based pop songs most of which were based in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a Mexican-born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's popular songs about his adopted home state drew many tourists to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the curator of this hall of fame, said: "I don't believe there any other performer who embodies Colorado in the same way as John Denver." In the year 2011, Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Denver has become the image of Colorado for many people all over the world. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's top 10 hit after performing with small folk music bands. The song was written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track along with Johnny Cash in mind but the moment Denver saw an early rendition it was clear that the track could become an instant hit. The singer recorded the song within a couple of days after performing it to the awe-inspiring crowd on the streets of Washington D.C.
